Upper Floor
On the upper floor, the fully equipped kitchen, with American dishwasher, fridge/freezer/icemaker and water purifier leads into the spacious lounge/dining room, which features large glass wide sliding patio doors the width of the room on opposite sides, to keep the whole room cool, assisted by paddle fans, enabling tropical outdoor/indoor living, without the need for air conditioning. There is an eclectic selection of books, large flatscreen satellite TV with DVD player, CD player and radio. Free unlimited wifi. The rear patio doors open onto the walled stonework terrace giving privacy and seclusion.
The lounge leads on to the master bedroom, with super king four poster bed fitted with full mosquito netting, large ensuite bathroom with full size bath/shower, double basins and outside tropical shower. A second bedroom with king size four poster double bed and ensuite bathroom with shower is also on this floor. Both bedrooms have their own balconies overlooking gorgeous Freeman’s Bay.
All four bedrooms have fitted mosquito nets and individual air conditioning, which is not necessary in the lounge area, as the house was designed to take advantage of the trade breezes.
Breakfast with the humming birds on the secluded rear terrace, gazebo or downstairs by the pool.
Lower Floor
The double Caribbean style over-arch staircase leads down to the pool area, off which are the two other bedrooms, one of which has a dividable super-king bed and adjacent bathroom with shower. Bedroom four has a super king four poster double bed and ensuite shower and toilet. Both downstairs bedrooms have French doors giving direct access to the pool area, which has dining furniture for up to 8 people. An infants crib/cot and two small sofa beds suitable for children are also available. Lime Hill has mosquito screening throughout, and fitted netting on all the four beds. There is a safe in the cupboard.
Grounds & Services
The mature garden includes tropical plants such as Bougainvillea, Jacaranda, Paw-Paw, Hibiscus, Alamanda, Christmas Candle, Breadfruit, Shaddock, Mango, Coconut, Banana, Breadfruit Lime and Oleander.
Additional Facilities
Additional complementary facilities include 24 hour security, garbage collection (the garbage collection station is a few paces down the hill), day ferry in season, and of course one of the finest gently sloping white sand beaches with warm calm clear water imaginable, voted in January 2019 as one of the best beaches in the world by Conde Nast, all just a few minutes stroll down the hill.
Galleon Beach resort has been closed for some years now, but the 20 or so private villas, of which Lime Hill is one, are self sufficient.
During the season, occasionally there is a complimentary little day ferry from Galleon Beach to Nelson’s Dockyard and nearby Falmouth, with shops and a mini market, some ten minutes drive away.
